Join Sara Warner, Associate Professor Department of Performing and Media Arts, for a hands-on grant writing workshop focused on describing your project in broad and capacious terms and fully articulating the stakes of your research. CANCELLED -April 23rd: "Art as Ethnography, Ethnography as Art"
Jennifer Robertson, Professor Emerita
University of Michigan, Anthropology & History of Art

Anthropologists and art historians tend to privilege the visual over the other senses and yet, it is often the case that “visual literacy” itself is undeveloped. In this session, we will explore how to appreciate and utilize images and image-making as fields of social action/intervention and cultural critique. And, by extension, we will also consider all the ways in which “academics” can become artists and enjoy the wholesome benefits of art making!
