Headshot of Avery August As Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, Prof. August oversees the Provost’s Office of Faculty Development and Diversity, which provides a wide range of programing for faculty development and diversity, support and training for department chairs and associate deans, and faculty hiring strategies. Also among his responsibilities are Provost’s Bridge programs for faculty diversity and dual career, dean’s searches, Provost’s liaison for the Faculty Committee on Program Review and Tenure and Promotions. Professor August joined the Department of Microbiology & Immunology at Cornell in 2010 as Professor of Immunology and Chair of the department and began his appointment as Vice Provost for Academic Affairs in 2018.
Headshot of Angela Winfield Angela Winfield, J.D. ’08 is the Associate Vice President for Inclusion and Workforce Diversity at Cornell University. In this role, she provides leadership, vision, energy, and a unified philosophy to the university’s diversity, inclusion, and engagement efforts.  With her dedicated focus on Cornell’s over 7,000 staff members, Winfield develops and implements strategies to create an inclusive environment that supports Cornell’s commitment to a diverse workforce. She oversees and implements the university’s affirmative action and federal contractor compliance program and is one of four Americans with Disabilities Act coordinators for the campus. Her department is responsible for reviewing and addressing bias concerns as well as providing learning opportunities through the Inclusive Excellence Academy, Podcast and Summit.
Headshot of Vijay Pendakur Vijay Pendakur serves as the Robert W. and Elizabeth C. Staley Dean of Students. In this position, he is a highly engaged and visible advocate for undergraduate and graduate/professional students alike. At the core of his role is a commitment to work broadly on aspects of access, equity, and social justice at Cornell. With that comes a focus on building a sense of community among students and to creating opportunities for students to explore the intersectionality of identity development. He is also responsible for leadership and guidance on crisis response campus-wide and with connecting academics with co-curricular activities. Vijay has a wealth of experience in diversity and inclusion work.

Using her experience of leading global strategic programs and implementing diversity & inclusion practices in industry, Victoria facilitates the execution and adoption of our new framework, Belonging at Cornell.
