Title: A Thousand Bridges: A History of Latinos in the United States since the Spanish Conquest
Abstract: Based on his current book project, Professor Geraldo Cadava’s talk will offer an overview of Latino history that focuses on the dynamics of colonialism, and argues that Latinos have always been both colonizer and colonized. The colonizer side of the equation has been underexplored, and it offers new insights into the ideological divide within Latino communities that have gained attention in recent years.
