Sustainable Systems for Fashion: Biomimicry and the Future of Fabrics

Tricia Langman has over eighteen years of experience designing for prestigious fashion companies worldwide, including Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Halston, Kashiyama, Donna Karan, Nicole Miller, Anthropology and Banana Republic. She is Partner and Leader of Sustainable Education Technology for Argentinian NGO Hecho Por Nosotros and advisor to the Board of Fashion Ghana, West Africa. Her design projects include work featured at the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of New York City.

Tricia is the founder and owner of a successful international Textile Print design studio, while concurrently an adjunct Textiles and Entrepreneurship instructor. She has been a Guest Artist and Creative Director for limited edition Batik collection for Pendleton and volunteer facilitator for Portland Arts Museum’s Arts Scholarship sponsored by Links. Workshops include Circular Fashion, Biomimicry, Biomaterials and a recent workshop on Design Thinking and Intersectionality at Cambridge University. Tricia is the co-producer of the Ethical Fashion Festival Board member TYE Oregon Foundation and a member of advisory board for the US Functional Fabric Fair.
