Alumni will talk about how feminist and queer studies have shaped their lives since graduation. They’ll offer specific career advice as well as general “life lessons.” Based on your interests, we will then match you with an alumni mentor to form an ongoing relationship.

Betrearon Getachew Tezera '15 After graduating from Cornell, I earned a graduate degree in American Literature while working as a freelance journalist. Originally intent on pursuing a career in academia, I decided to take some time away from that very particular milieu to grow into myself a bit. Over the years, I've developed a hybridized skillset, thanks to apprenticeships and self-directed learning, that has allowed me to work for the Federal Government, first as an editor, and now as a senior technologist.

Amelia Brackett '18 Since graduating, I have taught middle school math at a charter school for low-income students in Brooklyn, NY. During my first two years as an educator, I earned a Master of Arts in Teaching Special Education. I now write the math curriculum for the 24 charter schools in my network. I also volunteer my time working at a suicide prevention hotline.
